Oh, then there are the tropical drinks. Who does not like a fruity drink that comes with its own back scratcher.

  1. Haven’t been yet, but plan on riding the Honolulu Century (100 mile bike ride) next year.

  2. Yes! I just went to Maui this past February (and earned a lot of miles on the trip). My favorite day there wasn’t on the beach or the usual tourist things, it was a trip to the Ocean Vodka distillery, where they’re collecting and cataloging previously undocumented native species of sugar cane… then using the sugar to make vodka!

  3. We have been to Kauai several times and love the Grand Hyatt in Poipu. Molokai is also a beautiful island, but definitely much less developed from a tourist stand point. The lack of tourism infrastructure is great if you want to experience “old” Hawaii.

  4. Have been twice. Enjoyed the inter-island cruise on The Pride of America most.

  5. I’ve been once in middle school, a long long time ago. My favorite island is Kauai! I love snorkeling with the fishes.

  6. Nope too far to go and too expensive to come back with no visa stamp. Gotta put this GE to use.

  7. We enjoyed staying on the West side at the Marriott resort in Oahu a few months back.

  8. Lived there three years and have visited many times before and since! Favorite restaurant is a small Vietnamese chain called Bale on most of the islands. Nothing like a lemongrass chicken sandwich on a crisp roll to take to the beach!

  9. I have never been to Hawaii but I want to go so so bad. It’s definitely on my bucket list.

  10. Have been to three of the islands and I think the big island is the best. It also has most of the climate zones!

  11. I have been to Maui, I was only 15 though, would love to back as adult! My favorite part was snorkeling, so beautiful!!

  12. I’ve been fortunate enough to go once, so far, on a Pride of America cruise. Fantastic! Visited four different islands — folks who’ve only visited one or two are really missing out! Get out there and explore the whole state!

By the way, your photo of the tropical drink just looks like a cola! Can’t you come up with a more exciting tropical drink photo? :-)

  13. yes, went to Kauai. Spent a few years of points for the extended family to go. It was amazing, and even had a stop to Honolulu to visit Pearl Harbor.

  14. Been to Maui and Oahu. The crater on maui is amazing and the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor is a must if for nothing else but to pay respects.

  15. Never been to Hawaii, but I’ll have a long layover there in Jan while returning from Australia and plan to explore the area.

  16. I have been to Honolulu twice. Both times work related and I was only there for 25 hours each time. The NWA flight crews who served on my inbound also worked my outbound after their required rest. I was among the sad faced!

  17. Have never been but planning on early retirement there. What is the best place weather wise?

  18. LOVE the northside of Kauai, especially the Princeville area. The beaches on the north side offer a great variety and for the most part you can find a beach and fill like you’re the only one on the beach. The snorkeling is amazing and so are the sunsets!

  19. Yes, several times. And planning a family trip for next March to the big island.

  20. One of my favorite places is Manoa Falls on Oahu. After hiking there it’s off to the shaved ice stand!

  21. I spent a month on Kauai volunteering, so I was lucky enough to enjoy a more local experience of this breathtaking island. My favorite spots were the overlooking the water after hiking to the top of the waterfall and sitting under the big mango tree at the local beach at dusk. There was nothing more peaceful than coming to the beach after a day of building houses, working at the food shelter, or playing with the kids at the boys and girls club. Kauai is the best!

  22. I have not but would like to. My fiancée took a helicopter trip over a volcano in Hawaii and said it was great

  23. I haven’t been yet but it is on our list. Just have to get the time to do it!!

  24. I’ve never been to hawaii. the more I read about it, the more I want to visit!

  25. We went in 2005. It’s hard to single out one favorite thing, but Hanauma Bay snorkeling was a highlight. I especially liked that they had “prescription” masks. My eyes are so bad! It was wonderful to be able to see everything underwater!

  26. We’re going with my sister and brother-in-law for a week in October to the Big Island.

  27. I haven’t been yet, but saving those points to check it off the bucket list someday!

  28. Haven’t been there yet, but I plan to do it next year! I want to visit Oahu and Maui!

  29. I’ve been to Hawaii many times, and its hard to pick one favorite. The most memorable would be the summit of Mauna Kea, the world’s “tallest” mountain, and the Na Pali coast on Kauai.

  30. Only was there once when I was young and went to Oahu and Maui. Of those, I preferred Maui, but would like to visit Kauai.

  31. I have been able to visit Hawaii previously on four occasions and will be returning this coming October. My wife and I consider the Big Island our favorite and enjoy staying at the King Kamehameha Hotel in Kona.

  32. I have only been to Oahu and favorite place is North Shore, but plan to go to the other islands too.

  33. I have never been to Hawaii – being near Great Lakes, the Caribbean was closer! Recent deals are making it look a lot cheaper – this year maybe?

  34. Yes, I have traveled to Hawaii. Maui is a beautiful island with lots to see and do. The beach & snorkeling are my favorite activities.

  35. We have absolutely ZERO interest in going to the islands. Same goes for Alaska, Africa, South America, and any place the draw is scenery. Europe is so much more intersting.

  36. Been to Honolulu many years ago, but would kill to see the rest of the Islands someday!

  37. I have been to Oahu and Maui. I like the beaches on Maui, just relaxing in the sun.

  38. I have never been although I’d love to at some point! Most of our vacations are local to New England but thankfully my work lets me travel around the country and even to places like Korea and Taiwan…. :-)

  39. I have to travel to Oahu 2 or more times a year for work. I know, right! So far I have visited the Big Island and Kauai, so in the future I want to see Maui and Molukai. Hawaiian Airlines is great.

  40. I’ve been lucky to go 4 times in the last 3 years. I really like The Big Island. Didn’t feel like a tourist so much and made good friends with some locals.

  41. Have never been to Hawaii, but would love to see stairway to heaven on Oahu, Hawaii,
Rainbow Eucalyptus trees on Maui, Hawaii
Queens bath in Kauai, Hawaii and Hawai’i Volcano National Park.

  42. No, I haven’t been but we have been invited to go with friends next April which would be our 27th anniversary so I think it should be a plan, don’t you?

  43. I went 6 years ago and it wasn’t as fun because I had To work. And my fiancé way there. Who wants to go lay out on the beach with coworkers ?

  44. Been several times, Kauai my overall favorite, although Lanai is a great place to get away from it all.

  45. I have never been to Hawaii, but everyone tells me it is an awesome place to visit!

  46. I’ve been fortunate to go 13 times. Next month we are going 1st class, non-stop from ATL using low tier Skymiles (yes it can be done). I’ve been to six of the major islands and like the Big Island best for its hidden beaches- best in the world.

  47. Maui and The Big Island. Heading back to Maui soon to check out the new Hyatt Andaz. Hana is amazing there, if not slightly difficult to get to.

  48. I went to Hawaii once a few years ago. While it is a very touristy destination, I really enjoyed snorkeling at Hanauma Bay.

  49. Have been there several time. We like Maui best for the privacy and ability to relax with the one you love!

  50. I went to HI about 17 years ago and the thoughts of laying on the beach in Maui still warm me!

  51. I was lucky enough to go to high school there. Love the Napali Coast and Molokai

  52. Yes , 30 years ago on my honeymoon !
I said I would never go back unless I could fly first Class ! Now thanks’ to Miles and Points We may be heading back for our 30 th next year !!!
Same Wife ! Just thought I should point that out ! Ha !

  53. Just returned from 2 weeks there with the family. (Got all 4 of us there using Delta points, of course!). Loved the charm of Paia on Maui. Now, we truly know what Jack from Lost meant when he said, “we have to go back to the island.”

  54. Not yet but now as empty nesters with a home remodel complete, it’s moving up the to do list quickly.

  55. I have been to Hawaii and actually was married in Maui, naturally Maui is my favorite place!

  56. Have been to all four main islands–fond of them all but the north shore of Oahu might just be my favorite

  57. I’ve been to Oahu and Maui. When in Waikiki, my favorite is the hike up Diamondhead for the views but overall I prefer Maui. On my next visit I’m going to check out Kauai though as I hear great things.

  58. I have been to Hawaii. Maui was absolutely my most favorite part of the trip.

  59. I’ve been to Kauai and I have to say the lookout over Kalalau Valley has got to be the most incredible experience you don’t want to miss.

  60. We have been to Hawaii and our favorite spot is Lahaina. We like to stroll up and down the beach in the evening and check out all the activity at the other hotels!

  61. I like to drive up Haleakela on Maui. So cool to drive up a volcano, but watch out for the people on bikes going down!

  62. Have not been to the islands yet however a stop there on the way to Hong Kong is in the cards.

  63. Been many many times, often for medical conferences, but also for many family vacations. Our favorite island is Maui, and our favorite place to stay is the Fairmont Kea Lani.

  64. I was “stuck” in Kona for 2 weeks for work. Looking to go back in October or November again. Favorite place was just sitting on the beach at the resort. It was so nice, it took 6 months for my blood pressure to rise back to mainland levels.

  65. Hi Rene I have been to Oahu several times and
Who could not love it! On the side of the island
away from it all, there is an amazingly
    “Nummy” food truck-
Giovanni’s shrimp truck closer to waimea.
YES amazing! And fresh picked bb qd corn
Next trip I want to see MAUI :)

  66. Haven’t been yet. Going next year and can’t wait!! Well, unless there’s a mileage run from Atlanta soon!!

  67. I love the Big Island, and my favorite spot is hiking to where the lava hits the ocean.

  68. I have been to Hawaii a number of times. I love staying at the Westin on Maui and simply walking the beach during the sunset.

  69. LOVE going to Hawaii. Will have to say my favorite island is the big one; but have not yet had a chance to get to Kuaui. Hopefully later this year. Favprite spot = in the water !

  70. Been to Oahu twice. Seen just about everything there is to see. Next visit will go to Hawaii to give me some more space to explore. favorite place to visit? Costco, of course! Gotta keep my travels affordable.

  73. Kauai is our favorite. Viewing the napali coast from the water is spectacular!!

  74. Been to Maui 3 times and the big island once. I just booked a week in Kauai for this September. They are all great and we keep coming back.

  75. Kauai. I will never forget Hanakapi’ai Falls on the Na Pali coast in the rain.

  76. We’re in Oahu right on the north shore at an Ocean Villa at Turtle Bay. We also love the Big Island, specifically the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Mauna Lani Resort, as well as Maui, both Wailea and the Ka’anapali coast area.

  77. I have visited Hawaii many times and fell in love with it so much we retired here in 2012! I like the Kona side of the Big Island to live as it is very relaxed, but Oahu has more activities and night life if that is what you are looking for in a vacation. All of the islands have great ocean activities.

  78. Three times to Hawaii in total. Love the main street USA feel of Maui – with an ocean next door!

  79. I haven’t been yet but I hope to next year – 2 weeks with hubby and kids using points!

  80. The organic dragonfruit farm with aquaball and zip line near lahaina Maui and kayaking the flukes near Kona on the big island.

  81. Been there twice and favorite thing a day trip to Molokai and driving to the eastern end of the island to a secluded cove on our honeymoon!

  82. Went on a four island tour several years ago. Best part was the Kona Coast on the Big Island when massive waves were rolling in.

  83. Have been to Hawaii about 20 times. Kauai is my favorite. Oahu is only worth 2 days to see the historical sites….Pearl, Punchbowl, etc….

  84. I have been to Hawaii only once, a four-day stopover on the way to Australia and New Zealand way back when Air New Zealand was a Delta partner and I redeemed my first Delta miles. Canoeing towards Diamond Head was my favorite part!

  85. I have not been to HAWAII in a long time. Its a great place. I want to go to Maui again and maybe another island. Oahu is too much like Ft Lauderdale for me. But the Pearl Harbor exhibit is there.

    Rob

  86. I’ve never been, but looking at Asia next year, so a stopover may be in the cards.

  87. Yes I have been to HI … 2 stays for my employer’s National Sales Meetings, 2 different week long trips to Maui, and I have made 5 different Maui Mileage Runs and did not leave the airport! My favorite was the bicycle ride down the volcano on Maui which is best not to do with a hangover!

  88. My only visits to Hawaii have been stuck at the airport enroute to somewhere else. So I guess I would have to say my favorite place is at Honolulu Airport

  89. I’ve been to Maui twice, and I’m hoping to go back again this year with my husband, who has never been.

  90. We have been there many times. Lanikai Beach is one favorite on Oahu; however, Kauai has many locations that are great.

  91. Have been to Oahu several times. With all the hustle and bustle of the city area, the beach area in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village is a gem.

  92. I went yrars aho to burn the ticket i earned in the old dockers promo. It was wesome. Hang out relaxing on the beach all wrekend, and even got to run a 5k. Thanks

  93. In the old NWA days I would get a free stopover in Honolulu on the way back from Japan enroute to the USA and head to Waikiki beach for a few hours, then back to the then NWA club lounge and back to the USA

  94. Have been a couple of times. really enjoy the Big Island, the volcano, good snorkeling.

  95. Oh yeah – LOVE Hawaii! Life’s goal is to visit each island…just a couple more to go! Maui, though, is my Happy Place. Absolutely love the island and her people. And the fruity drinks. :)

  96. We have been there 2 times – once just my wife and I and once our entire family of 8 (which cost us a mere $80 total for round trip airfare – using points from various programs combined and then a $10 per person airport tax). Our favorite is Kauai and we love finding great unique places to stay through local vacation rentals.

  97. The Shore Bird Restaurant on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu (Feb 2010). You buy your meats raw and cook them yourself on a giant barbecue. They also have excellent drinks and great Happy Hour specials!

  98. I’ve never been to Hawaii but I’m racking up my miles and points to take my kids and wife…best place I’ve been to besides the beaches in my hometown Miami…Cancun. I love the beach.

  99. Yes, been. Favorite parts are AWAY from prime tourist areas,, off the beaten path is more fun.

  103. I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon and my favorite spot was Maui. Kapalua to be specific.

  105. Yes I have been to Hawaii on a mileage run last fall! Only visited Honolulu but I really liked the special thing they do on the beach with dancing, a huge pig, and such! Aloha!

  106. Was there 25 years ago and always had plans to go back but work wouldn’t let me. Am booked for a week in September on my favorite island of Maui.

  107. Hawaii is the home of my soul. Lived there for 10 yrs, then met my husband and had to move to Florida for his job. 30 yrs later still in florida I go HOME every chance i get and love Maui and Oahu and the Big Island. and the great production of Movies ect there. My ashes will be spread out past Diamond Head where I was married on a catamaran, with hula dancers and our wedding service in English and Hawaiian surrounded by loved ones out in my beloved ocean at sunset New Years Ever. sigh…..

  108. Never been, but I do owe my wife a beach vacation so it may be in the near future.
