My SPG GOLD card (hotel) came today & some “new stuff” too!

As you can see from the above, my shiny new SPG Starwood Preferred Guest card, good until the end of FEB2014, came in the mail today. I have been GOLD before and getting 2 nights “stay credit” for getting my SPG business credit card this year was a nice perk after I missed out on the 25,000 point bonus for applying for the card 3 weeks too soon (I will gripe over that mistake for a long time to come)

Anyway, there was a new feature in my kit this year (new to me anyway). I got 4 “Job Well Done” cards as our “beloved airline” calls them and SPG calls them “You’ve Made My Stay” cards. When an employee enters in: Spg.com/associate they end up at,

I really have no idea just how much these cards are worth point wise and if a Platinum SPG members cards are worth even more (that would be my guess) and what these points can be redeemed for. If you have some inside info of just what they can get for them I would love to know and share that info with the blog.

EDIT: A reader e-mailed me to say – Gold SPG cards are worth 500 points to a Starwood employee

I love my SPG card and value the points and I hope you have either the business or personal card in your wallet. I am also sure all of us know we can send 20,000 SPG points to Delta and will end up with 25,000 Skymiles at the end of the transaction for your next award ticket on Delta Air! :-) René

  1. Rene, is the current SPG card offer above average, average, or below average compared to prior offers?

  2. @Gussomer – the best offer is the 30k that has come for a few months 1x a year but the 25k offer is very good too. For most, you can make up the few less points in value! – Rene

  3. Love the cards for employees. I always used them liberally when I was with HIG. Can’t wait to gift my room attendants in Hawaii in January!
